Above are some of the true percula (Amphiprion percula) clowns we have raised over the last few months. They are looking pretty nice and very bright orange. Below are few pictures of the juvenile 4 month old clowns and the mother of all these babies(pic with blue background).

Neon Gobies

We have also been working with a very limited number of blue striped neon gobies. They are still in the larval stages but we hope to have more soon. Below are some poor photos of one of the parents and some of the larval fish.

Orange Skunks

We are also working with another newbie here at BWA the Orange skunk clown, aka Amphirion sandarcinos. We are pretty exicted about these guys because they are awesome looking fish and so cute. We have a very limited supply of these to date and hope to have more soon. Below are some pictures of them too.
We have been very busy with our new system. It is up and running and now being stocked with pairs. We had an Murphy’s Law event after about a week of running this cube system. We had a crack in a quarter inch glass side panel from an expanding acrylic divider. Lucky we noticed this early and fixed the issue with a glass band-aid patch. Lesson learned :) See picture above. The crack starts at the bottom and splits 4 ways. Notice the patch work from the silicone globs.

B&W Ocellaris Update

We had the fortunate opportunity to buy the breeding pair of B&W ocellaris from our friends at Marine Depot. See link for their blog (scroll down to “The Mating Game.” This is the pair of clowns we have been working with over the last few months. This pair is a monster pair that have been at Marine Depot for over a year and are 8 years old. The have just started re-spawning in quarantine :) !!!!!

B&W Nests Update

The assorted B&W nests are doing well. Below is a picture of the babies that are in the range of 83 days old and younger. This is a mix of ages since we have multiple clutches growing in this tank. Don’t forget there are a few regular ocellaris mix with these babies.

In all honesty we are surprised that these stragglers made it through a major rotifer crash. If it was not for that crash we would have a ton more babies from this nest. Arggghhh.

Sorry the pics are a little blurry. Squint your eyes and imagine these images crystal clear.......

It is 98% done. Just a few little details to iron out. Then we need to fill it up and get things up and running. It should be a pretty nice setup when it is all done.

The heat has been pretty rough here in Southern California. We have had many tanks peaking at 86 degrees plus at times. We increased our fan usage which helps some. Luckily we specialize in marine fish that can tolerate the heat better than if we propagated corals :).

Below are some pics of B&W Nest 2 mixed in with Nest 3 and some ocellaris babies. These fish are doing really well and we hope they increase in body mass and darken with age.
